New Rehearsal Schedule
A new rehearsal schedule has been published that will take us right up to show week. Make sure you take a copy when you are in rehearsals.
It is imperative that you turn up for rehearsals when scheduled, as failure to do so will lead to time constraints in the future. If you are unable to make the rehearsals for whatever reason, please have the courtesy of ringing one of the Directors Jill Peters, 01686 630344 or Les Skilton 07791 878153
A copy of the rehearsal schedule will be put here when I receive it from the Directors.

Several members of NMTC braved the weather over the week-end to set up a raffle stall in Bear Lanes, Newtown. Many thanks to all that 'manned' the stall that day, generating much needed funds for NMTC.

NMTC Coffee Morning
Last Saturday (3rd of July), a group of NMTC members dressed up as butlers and maids for a coffee morning/book sale at the Methodist Church in Newtown.
Sarah Astley-Davies played the piano whilst members sang various songs from the show whilst helping out on all the stalls. The treasurer believes that over £150 was generated for the company during this short time. NMTC would like to thank everyone who took part in the adventure.

Newtown Carnival
Yesterday, a group of NMTC members dressed up as characters from some of our past shows to take part in Newtown Carnival. As well as being a fun social event, this was an opportunity for us to publicise our next show, the world premiere of The Musical Lorna Doone.
To top the day off, we were thrilled to win first prize for our efforts - I'm sure we will be back again next year to defend our title!

Singing at Llys Hafren and The Rhallt
On 22nd May, a dozen or so NMTC members spent time in Welshpool performing to the residents of two care homes, as part of the Welsh Amateur Music Federation's 'Healthy Sounds' programme. We started the day at Llys Hafren, where we performed a programme of 23 items, which included chorus numbers as well as solos.
We then headed to Coed-y-Dinas for lunch (and some shopping, of course!), before setting off for our next appointment at The Rhallt, where we performed the same programme to residents there.
It was clear that the residents of both Llys Hafren and The Rhallt thoroughly enjoyed our performances, with many joining in with us for some of the more well known numbers!
We will be performing similar concerts at two homes in Newtown on Wednesday, 2nd June.

The Musical Lorna Doone
We will soon be starting work on our next production, a world premiere of The Musical Lorna Doone by Kat Bond.
In order to familiarise ourselves with the story of Lorna Doone, we will be watching a film of Lorna Doone in Treowen School at 7pm on Wednesday 14th April. Then, we will be meeting again on Friday 16th April at 7.30pm at the Methodist Chapel, Back Lane, for a read through of Kat's new musical.
If you are interested in joining us for The Musical Lorna Doone, please come along on one of these evenings, or contact our Chairman, Jackie on (01686) 650955.

Carol Singing at Bear Lanes
On Saturday, 12th December, a group of NMTC braved the cold to sing carols at Bear Lanes. The singing was well received by the shoppers in town, and we raised over fifty pounds for the company's funds. Thank you to Kat for rehearsing us and for playing the piano, and to Hugh for coming to the rescue when we arrived to find that the piano we were expecting to use was not there!
