Follow Your Dream - NODA Review

On reflection I have been visiting this talented 'go-ahead' Society for over twenty years. On this occasion I invited our Society Secretary to accompany me, and we couldn't understand why we'd never heard of the Show Follow Your Dream.

It was actually the idea of Vice Chairman John Harbron, a huge Rodgers & Hammerstein fan, who asked Mike Clarke (a long standing member) to collect and direct a compilation of their songs. What a task, but what a resounding success for Mike and everybody connected with the show, on stage, back stage, and front of house, including the Musical Director, her assistants and the Choreography team. Everybody on stage had a solo or duet to sing - what an opportunity to get to know the capabilities of the younger members who all sang beautifully. There were twenty four items listed in the programme, but we were treated to many many more.

I must thank the Front of House Manager for her usual welcome and refreshment prior to 'curtain up' and during the interval. The final item was 'Climb Every Mountain'. Everybody connected with this excellent show certainly climbed a mountain at the matinee, and definitely got right to the top! It was lovely seeing you all again. Thanks for inviting me.
